The title "Don't sleep on pillows" may sound odd coming from us. But here's why I chose it: most pillows are laced with harmful chemicals. As a mother to a child with a compromised immune system, I am regularly looking for ways to improve his health and protect him from harm. Until recently, I only applied that thinking to what we eat at home, but in the last year I've learned about the unfortunate prevalence of harmful "forever chemicals" that are found not only in food, but intentionally placed in our clothes, cookware, appliances, linens, and fabrics. If I was a person of limitless means, I would turn my house inside out overnight to take out the bad and bring in the good. But little by little we are making those changes for the sake of our physical and mental health.
